RAS Goals – FY 2020

Goal 1: Maintain and Improve RAS Operations

  • Continue to refine and implement RAS metrics and performance measures
  • Continue "Return to RAS" process improvements
  • Complete post-award process improvement initiatives focused on award setup, award close-out, expenditure monitoring, and projections
  • Develop and launch a formal RAS communication plan (in alignment with ORA plan) to improve transparency

Goal 2: Continue to Develop RAS Human Resource Management Policies and Procedures

  • Review and revise (as appropriate) all RAS job descriptions (JDs)
  • Expand the RASnet Training and Presentation Library to promote best-practice sharing and employee development
  • Formalize and launch RAS orientation, onboarding, and training program in alignment with ORA initiative
  • Continue to expand the RAS HR portal for RAS supervisors and staff
  • Launch and assess RAS Coaching Program
  • Launch RAS LEADS (Leader Excellence and Development Series) for aspiring RAS leaders

Goal 3: Complete Special Projects to Address Constituency Feedback and Improve RAS Culture

  • Review and revise (as appropriate) RAS mission. Develop RAS vision and core values. Implement RAS Progress Plan
  • Develop RAS strategic plan
  • Host a RAS Book Club focused on topic relevant to RAS service culture

Goal 4: Implement McKinsey and Huron Recommendations

  • Launch RAS Navigation Culture Initiative
  • Launch RAS “Navigators”
  • Refine RAS dual reporting / implement the RAS Path Forward

RAS Progress Plan Initiatives

Initiative 1: Improve Inner Work Life for New Employees

  • Include engagement activities in RAS onboarding (welcome email from AVP, lunch with colleagues/partners, and 1599 tour)

Initiative 2: Remove Barriers and Develop Spirit of Partnership

  • Launch a regular series to address RAS-wide training and informational needs
