Denise Ehlen, Associate Vice President, RAS

Denise oversees the nine Research Administration Service (RAS) Centers and approximately 165 staff that provide local pre- and post-award research administration support functions to faculty across campus. Denise possesses over twenty years of experience in pre- and post-award research administration as well as business incubation and outreach. Prior to joining Emory, Denise assumed a variety of leadership roles including Director for Business Outreach, Executive Director of the Technology Park/Incubation Services, and Director of Research and Sponsored Programs at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Denise graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with degrees in political science and education/mentoring. She also possesses professional certificates in social entrepreneurship (USASBE), technology transfer (WKI), and business coaching (Growth Wheel).
Amanda Riley, Director of RAS Operations and Special Projects

Amanda supports the continued development of Research Administration Services (RAS) Operations. Her primary responsibilities include supporting the Associate Vice President, RAS by leading special projects to build and maintain the RAS operating model and managing RAS Central’s internal operations. Amanda possesses eleven years of research administration experience, seven of which have been acquired at Emory. Amanda joined Emory in April 2013 in the Office of Grants and Contracts (now Research, Grants and Contracts). Since, she has held positions in the Basic Sciences RAS, the Cancer & Imaging RAS, the Pediatrics RAS and RAS Central. Amanda graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in finance.
